2012 Nursing and Physician Leadership Congress
LEAD THE CHANGE: Creating a Better Tomorrow Together
The Nursing and Physician Leadership Congress is designed to help clinical leaders become catalysts for leading change. It provides nurse and physician executives an opportunity to share practical experience and brainstorm to develop interdisciplinary solutions to the healthcare industry's most pressing problems. The focus on practical experience over policy and theory, along with ample opportunity to network with other senior clinical executives, distinguishes the Nurse and Physician Leadership Congress from other forums.
In February 2012, McKesson hosted close to 100 senior clinical leaders in Charleston, S.C. For the second year in a row, nurse and physician executives met jointly to share innovative strategies and discuss how to navigate the many clinical, financial and operational challenges that define the current landscape: patient engagement, accountable care, population health management, patient flow, meaningful use and more. To round out the event, industry speakers e-Patient Dave deBronkart, John Combes, MD (American Hospital Association), Wendy Everett, ScD (New England Healthcare Institute) and healthcare futurist Ian Morrison offered their unique perspectives.
This year's Congress was made possible through an educational grant from McKesson. The Congress was co-sponsored by the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP), the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) and the Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS).
